What Our Clients Say ...

Our group recently returned from a wonderful 2014 fall trip to Alaska.  We arranged our accommodations and daily fishing through High Adventure Air and the level of service was first class all the way.  Their Office Manager, Susan, arranged for us to stay in a comfortable cabin at Marlow’s on the Kenai which become our base of operations for the week.  It is an easy five minute drive from the High Adventure Air dock where we would meet each morning to begin our daily adventure.  We did three fly out trips with High Adventure and Susan arranged a day of rainbow trout fishing on the Kenai for us as well.  The highlight of our trip was the Ultimate Silver Salmon trip we took an hour flight to a small lake somewhere southwest of Seward.  The flight over the Harding Ice Field was spectacular before Mark (our pilot) put the tail down on this tiny, emerald colored lake surrounded by steep cliffs on three sides.  We fished the outlet stream from the lake which is only about a mile from the ocean; catching trophy sized and chrome bright silver salmon in a setting straight from a post card.  The fishing was simply superb with the Silver Salmon averaging 13-15 pounds and big, aggressive Dolly Varden so numerous they became a nuisance as we were after the silvers.
It would have been impossible to top our first day but the next two days of Silver Salmon fishing at Big River Lakes provided fast action in a beautiful setting with plenty of wildlife.  We saw black and brown bears, moose, and bald eagles.  We even had a seal swim right by us while we were wading an inlet creek to Big River Lake.  Our only disappointment was that we were not able to get into Crescent Lake on our final day due to weather so had to divert to fish a second time at Big River but we still had great fishing, catching double digit numbers of Silver Salmon each, all on fly rods.
The staff, pilots and guides at High Adventure are simply the best.  They treat you like family, not just clients.  Our pilot Mark could probably fly anything with wings if he had to and all of our landings were as smooth as any I’ve ever had.  Our guide Ben was a pleasure to fish with and possesses a knowledge of the Alaskan outdoors far in excess of his young age, not to mention he is a hell of a cook!
We could easily have spent more money on a remote fly-in camp but in my view a week in Soldotna with daily fly out trips through High Adventure Air and a day float trip on the Kenai is hard to beat for variety, action and scenery; not to mention is probably the best value trip we have found to date.”

I would like to take this opportunity to tell anyone who has any dreams of an Alaskan Fly-Out Adventure to keep in mind High Adventure Charters and Guides. My son Mick and I had a wonderful experience with this outfit a couple of years ago. Starting with Susan in the office who made making reservations and whatever follow up info we needed so easy. She was a delight to work with.  Our pilot and guide were top notch also. We enjoyed one of the greatest days of our lives, playing with salmon as well as bears.  It was a truly memorable experience and one I encourage anyone to partake.

King Camp Testimonial
When my Dad first told me about the Nushagak River King Salmon fishing trip we expected a fishing trip, instead we received the trip of a lifetime.  For this trip to be a success it had to have three things, a great staff, great accommodations, and of course fishing to make it all worthwhile.  I have only wonderful things to say about the staff of High Adventure Air.  From the office personnel to the pilots and from the camp staff to the fishing guides; these people are simply the best.  The staff is courteous, professional, and most importantly of all, they are fun to be around.  The accommodations that this group puts together, in the middle of nowhere, are simply spectacular.  Now this is not the Bellagio on the strip in Vegas, this is a fishing camp in ‘the bush.’  Being able to wake up in the morning and stumble your way into the cook tent; where a hot pot of coffee is already bubbling, the fire is crackling and the smell of a delicious home cooked breakfast is in the air, I find hard to beat.  Let’s not forget, this is a fishing trip and fishing is what you get, along with as much catching as just about anyone can handle.  These are not bass or trout either, these are King Salmon, Chinook, Oncorhynchus tshawytscha, the largest species of Pacific salmon.  They are fresh from the ocean and full of fight.  I never would have believed that a 30 pound King could become airborne, as trout often do, until I saw it with my own eyes.  If you are looking for just another fishing trip this is not the trip for you.  However, if you desire to go on an adventure of a lifetime this is the camp for you.

When I went to visit my best friend of 42 years who had newly arrived in Alaska, we set out on the adventure of a lifetime—to fish with the bears! Despite my inexperience with fishing and bears, your patient, professional guides managed to make a fisherwoman out of me. I love to tell my lower 48 friends my bear stories as I feed them the salmon I caught. Although fishing next to bears was my favorite part of the day, I can't express how much joy the journey in and out of the fishing spot gave me—your pilot made sure we got a close look at all kinds of wildlife as well as skimmed us over glaciers for a close look at the blue crevasses below. High Adventure, indeed!

We had so much fun that we felt guilty for leaving our husbands behind, so we were forced to repeat the fun (oh, darn it!) this year. What started two years ago as a girls adventure may well have become an annual event. We're already planning another trip for next year.

This is a great trip if you like to catch grayling and rainbows on light tackle. Fly in with High Adventure Air Charter. Pilots are experienced and guides are professional. We busted a huge moose bedded down by the lake when we landed. You will fish several lakes, and enjoy a shore lunch of fried grayling. Highly recommend the trip.

I came to Alaska 2 years ago and visited your establishment. It turned out to be one of the most memorable days in my life. Now, 2 years later, I have had the opportunity to share that again with my son Patrick. And it was even better. I would like to thank Ben (our guide), as well as the rest of the staff at High Adventure for your most gracious hospitality. You have truly made your mark on the Del Santo family and that takes someone special.

Just got home and wanted to thank you for customizing our package. Ron caught a 28" Rainbow and we all limited on Silver Salmon. Brother Robert caught a 168 pound Halibut that he won't soon forget. We've heard how busy July can be in your area, but August was Awesome!

Why High Adventure? They know how to take care of their people. They treat you right!
